Abstract

The background of this research is the low reading literacy ability of high grade students in Banjarmasin. The low reading ability is thought to have an effect on student achievement. This is indicated by the results of student learning achievement which is still low. The aims of the study were; 1) to determine the reading literacy ability; 2) to determine the level of learning achievement; and 3) to determine the effect of reading literacy ability on the learning achievement of high-class students in Banjarmasin. The research design used survey quantitative research with research samples of high-class students in Banjarmasin. Data analysis using simple linear regression test. The results showed that; 1) students' reading literacy ability was quite adequate at 67.53%; 2) student learning achievement was classified as very good at 81%; and 3) there was a significant effect of 5.4% between reading literacy ability and achievement student learning.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe the level of satisfaction of partner schools with the performance of PPLK II IAI Yasni Bungo students. The study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method. The form of the survey implementation in this study used a questionnaire. Questionnaires were given to the population, namely partner schools that were appointed and selected by the IAI Yasni Bungo campus in the implementation of the PPLK II program, which was chosen by random sampling, namely six schools that were accredited B and represented regional regions for Bungo and Tebo regencies and represented each level of education program. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through stages; 1) descriptive statistical analysis, 2) testing requirements analysis, and 3) hypothesis testing. The research findings show that the satisfaction of partner schools with the performance of IAI Yasni Bungo students in implementing the PPLK II program is in the "Satisfactory" category.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how village heads apply prophetic leadership in building religious character in Panca Jaya District, Mesuji Regency, Lampung. To understand the phenomena in the field, the researcher uses a qualitative case study approach. The data collection technique is done through interviews, observation, and documentation. Since being in the field, the data analysis was conducted concerning the Milles and Huberman concept. The results showed that the prophetic leadership applied by the village head was displayed through humanist leadership through amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, liberation leadership, and transcendence leadership. This study implies the importance of leaders to have the ability to interact, communicate and socialize in carrying out a clear vision to gain the trust of the community.

Abstract

Globalization allows foreign cultures to quickly enter and often hurts children's behavior, especially teenagers classified as unstable. If this is not balanced with a qualified religious character, teenagers can experience a moral decline. This study seeks to examine the strengthening of religious character education in children in madrasas with parenting management to regulate and control the habituation of children at home so that excellent and religious characters are formed. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type. The research locations are Madrasah Tsanawiyah throughout the city of Banjarmasin. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman technique in data reduction, data display, and data verification or conclusions. The results showed that Madrasah Tsanawiyah institutions throughout the city of Banjarmasin strengthen planning that coordinates with parents of students; second, religious character management is carried out using religious habituation, time management, and follow-up progress. The implications of strengthening religious character education in coordination with parents can instill religious character in children by habituation.

Abstract

SDI Miftahul Huda, Kedungwaru, Tulungagung is strongly committed to developing the best educational institutions. Seeing the institution's purpose, it is understood that schools must be able to improve the quality of education and optimize the participation of the community who give good opinions for the school's image. This study aims to understand the management of public relations in building the school's image. The research method used is qualitative. The data collection technique is done by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The study results indicate that the implementation of public relations in building the school's image is carried out through internal and external work programs, where each work program has a role in building the image of SDI Miftahul Huda. Public relations strategy in building an image is carried out by evaluating public behavior, identifying policies and procedures of the organization with the public's wishes, and planning and establishing an action program so that the public can accept and understand the program held by the school.

Abstract

This study examines the best educational management in the era of information technology, known as the 21st century. This study is qualitative research. Madrasahs in Sambas Regency and as primary data are principals and students. Meanwhile, secondary data consists of articles, books, and other supporting documents in this research. The findings of this study indicate that the best practice model to achieve effective and productive educational goals starts with effective schools, management, strong leadership, clear vision, ability to create a good learning climate, has a student monitoring mechanism, progress to have expectations, high level, supported by resource teachers and also involving the community. The results of this study can later contribute to education in Indonesia in general.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the principal's leadership in responding to the challenges of the pedagogic competence of 21st-century teachers at SMA Negeri 68 Jakarta. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method is applied in this study. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted interactively, starting with data collection, data reduction, data display, and concluding. The results showed that; Principal leadership in improving teacher pedagogic competence is carried out by strengthening educator certification, training organized by the department and school, strengthening collaboration, communication, critical and creative thinking, implemented through literacy skills, strengthening character education, information, and communication technology-based learning. This research has implications for the importance of teacher competence in improving the quality of education in schools, so it needs to get earnest attention from all parties.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the critical role of religious leaders in Islamic education so that people understand that something they learn will be helpful in their lives in this world and the hereafter so that they will not feel a loss in learning and applying Islam in their lives. This research uses a case study research method with a qualitative approach. Researchers conducted intensive interviews, involvement observations, and collection of documentation as data mining directly in the field and analyzed by describing events in the field. This study found that the role of religious leaders as leaders in carrying out Islamic religious education is carried out through example, practice and action, ibrah and advice, dialogue, and non-formal coaching and management. This research has implications for the importance of example, practice, deeds, ibrah and advice, dialogue in managing non-formal educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of competence and use of information technology on teacher performance. This type of research is quantitative. The research population of teachers at SMP Negeri 21 Batang Hari was 32 people. The data collection technique used a questionnaire (questionnaire), and the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using multiple regression analysis. The results showed that; 1) there is a positive and significant influence between competence on teacher performance; 2) there is a positive and significant effect between the use of information technology on teacher performance; 3) Simultaneously there is a positive and significant influence between competence and the use of information technology on teacher performance. By obtaining the value of R Square (coefficient of determination) of 0.865, which means the magnitude of the role or contribution of the competence variable and the use of information technology can explain the teacher performance variable of 86.5%. Where if the competence and use of information technology are getting better, the teachers' performance at SMP N 21 Batang Hari will also be better.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of leadership and principal motivation on teacher performance at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Thawalib, Tanjung Limau Pariangan, West Sumatra. This study uses a quantitative correlational approach that is commonly used to evaluate and detect the extent of a factor's variation on one or more other factors based on the correlation coefficient. This study involved 30 teachers. The results showed that leadership and motivation simultaneously affected teacher performance at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Thawalib with a significance value (sig) of 0.003. The better the leadership and the higher the motivation given by the head of the madrasah, it will improve teachers' performance in the madrasah. This study has implications for the importance of the leadership style displayed by the principal in improving the performance of existing personnel in the organization to achieve the desired goals.
